For agencies and consultancies

Stop losing client decisions in Slack threads

Each client gets a private link and responds in their browser — no account, no app, nothing to install. Settle chases the quiet ones, closes at your deadline, and hands you a timestamped record you can attach to the project.

What is a client approval tool?

A client approval tool takes a decision that would otherwise live in a channel or an email chain and gives it structure: a fixed question, a fixed set of options, a deadline, and a record of who approved what. Settle for Teams does that for external stakeholders specifically — the client, their legal contact, the partner agency — none of whom will create an account to answer one question.

Why client decisions disappear

The thread eats the decision

Creative direction, vendor choice and scope changes get decided in a shared channel. Two days later the thread has moved on and nobody can point at the message where it was agreed.

You re-ask in the next meeting

“Did we land on Option B?” is a question that costs an agency a meeting slot a week, and it makes the team look like it wasn't listening.

Scope disputes have no paper

When a client says they never approved the extra round, the only evidence is a scroll-back nobody wants to read in a billing conversation.

How it works in a client channel

Four steps, and the client only sees one of them.

  • Type /settle in the client channel. Settle creates the decision as a draft and sends you a private link to finish it — the client sees nothing yet.
  • Add the options, the stakeholders and the deadline in your dashboard. 2–6 options, up to 30 people, any deadline from an hour to 30 days.
  • Everyone gets their own private link. They open it in a browser and mark each option yes, no or maybe. That is the whole voter experience — no sign-up form, no app store redirect.
  • The deadline closes it. The settled card posts back to your Slack channel, and the full record lands in your dashboard, searchable and exportable.

After it settles you can add up to 3 follow-up actions. Stakeholders claim, complete or flag them through the same link they voted on, and Settle issues a Done Card when everything is closed.

What agencies put through it

Creative direction

Three routes, one deadline, a record of which one the client picked and who on their side backed it.

Campaign concept selection

Put the shortlist in front of every decision-maker at once instead of routing it through one contact.

Scope-change approval

A timestamped yes before the work starts, not an invoice dispute after it ships.

Launch date sign-off

Lock the date with everyone who can move it on the record as having agreed.

Vendor shortlists

Let the client rank the suppliers you sourced without setting up another call.

Why no-account voting is the whole product

Every other approval tool asks your client to become a user of your software. They won't.

A client will click a link and tap an option. They will not create a password, accept an invite to your workspace, or install an app to answer a question about homepage copy. Every extra step is a place where the approval stalls and you go back to chasing it in the thread.

Settle treats that as a hard constraint rather than a growth tactic: the voting page never asks for an account, never shows a download prompt, and never puts a paywall in front of a client. You pay for the workspace. Everyone you need an answer from votes for free.

The record is the deliverable

Every closed decision produces an artifact with the question, the options that were on the table, who responded, what they chose, the decision rule that was applied, and the timestamp it closed. Marked Settled when your rule was met, Escalated when the deadline passed without it.

That artifact is what turns “I thought we agreed” into a link. Brand it with your logo and accent color, label it by client or project, and export the history when an account gets handed over or audited.

Questions agencies ask

Do clients need an account to approve something?

No. A client opens the link, sees the question and the options, and responds in their browser. No account, no app, no download, no workspace invite. That is the point of the product — an approval tool your client refuses to log into is not an approval tool.

How many people can I put on one client decision?

Up to 30 stakeholders per decision, with 2 to 6 options. That covers a client side, your side and any third parties on the same approval without anyone being left off.

What do I get when the decision closes?

A timestamped record showing the question, the options, who responded, what each person said and when it closed — marked Settled if your decision rule was met, or Escalated if it wasn't. You can share the record link with the client, print it, or attach it to the project.

Can I brand the records with our agency's identity?

Yes. Workspace branding puts your logo and accent color on every card, and client or project labels keep decisions organized across accounts. Search, filter and export the full history from the dashboard.

What if a client never responds?

Settle sends reminders and enforces your deadline. Under a majority rule, Settle applies the rule when the decision closes — at your deadline, or earlier if you press Settle now — and it settles if more than half the invited stakeholders approved an option, so one silent contact doesn't block a clear result. Under unanimity, a missing response holds it open until the deadline and then escalates back to you with a record of exactly who didn't reply.
